PREVENTIVE MEDICINE
I perform screening Endoscopies and Colonoscopies for early diagnosis and prevention of serious conditions such colorectal cancer.
Types of Screening Endoscopy: include:
– Colonoscopy: examines the colon and rectum
– Upper endoscopy: examines the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum (first part of the small intestine)
– Flexible sigmoidoscopy: examines the rectum and sigmoid colon (lower part of the colon)
The purpose is to:
- Detect and prevent colorectal cancer
- Identify and remove polyps before they become cancerous
- Diagnose and treat conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stomach ulcers, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
