Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy

Upper GI endoscopy
A camera test of the food pipe, stomach and first part of the small bowel for reflux, ulcers, bleeding, swallowing problems and anaemia.
Colonoscopy
Examines the large bowel for bleeding, long-lasting diarrhoea, inflammation and polyps, which can be removed during the test.
ERCP
An endoscopic procedure to treat bile duct stones and blockages and some pancreatic duct problems.

Dr Usman Naeem has a Fellowship in Advanced Digestive Endoscopy. The clinic will confirm which advanced procedures suit your situation.

Dr Usman Naeem is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist in Lahore. He holds an MBBS, MRCP (UK) and FCPS in Gastroenterology, and completed a Fellowship in Advanced Digestive Endoscopy.
He believes patients do better when they understand their condition. That is why he explains tests and treatment in plain language, and shares free education in Urdu and English on his YouTube channel.

Common questions
How do I book an appointment?
You can message on WhatsApp (0332-0420421 or 0334-0421313), call or send an SMS to 0311-4444600, or send the appointment request form. We will reply with the available days and times.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Please bring earlier reports (blood tests, ultrasound, endoscopy or colonoscopy reports, hospital discharge papers), a list of all your medicines including herbal products and supplements, your national ID, and any referral note. Writing your questions down beforehand is also helpful.
What happens during a gastroenterology consultation?
The doctor listens to your symptoms and history, reviews your reports, examines you, explains the likely causes, and discusses whether any tests, medicines, lifestyle changes or procedures are needed. You are welcome to ask questions.
Are consultations free for Zakat-eligible patients?
Yes. Clinic examination is free for Zakat-eligible patients. Please let us know when you get in touch so that this can be arranged respectfully. Tests and procedures are separate.
Where are the clinics and what are the timings?
Dr Usman Naeem sees patients at Aadil Hospital, Main Boulevard, DHA Lahore (Monday to Friday 7 pm to 9 pm, Saturday 4 pm to 6 pm, Sunday closed; by appointment only) and at Doctors Hospital and Medical Center, Lahore (Canal Road, Block G-1, Johar Town; Wednesday from 2 pm onwards, consultation by appointment only). Please see the clinic and contact page, and confirm your slot with the clinic before you travel. Consultation fees are confirmed by the clinic when you book.
Which procedures are available at which location?
All procedures are available at both Aadil Hospital (DHA) and Doctors Hospital and Medical Center (Johar Town): ERCP, bile duct stone extraction, biliary, oesophageal and duodenal stenting, oesophageal variceal band ligation, upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and other diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Please book an appointment before visiting.
